| Action in English is a family business run by Tristan Moss and his partner Jane McLeod. Tristan organises the English and sport's programme, whilst Jane deals with administration and problem-solving. Both have a passion to provide top-quality English language summer camps that capture the imagination of today's young people and provide a safe and stimulating environment in which they can flourish and learn. Tristan Moss is our Academic Director. He has a BA in Political Philosophy, CELTA, DELTA and an MA in TESOL. For the past 15 years he has taught on and managed English language programmes in the UK, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Turkey. He is also a keen tennis player and rock-climber. |

Jane McLeod deals with the company administration. She is a PhD level Research Scientist with experience of organising and managing projects, teaching at University level and has spent time abroad teaching English in China. She is also a mother, and in her spare time she enjoys hiking and yoga. |
Action in English subscribes to a modern communicative approach of teaching English, which emphasises learning English via group and paired tasks/activities. This ensures that lessons are student-centred and confidence-building occasions, where students have lots of opportunity to practise speaking, even when learning grammar points, or a written genre.
All our teachers are CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching Abroad) qualified with a minimum of five years teaching experience. Our Academic Director is DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching Abroad) qualified with a Master in TESOL and over 15 years experience in teaching English language.
We believe that children learn best when there is a balance between having fun and focused study. Therefore, we encourage our teachers to use a variety of task-types, games and topics that motivate and engage students. |
